Good advice?
May. 17th, 2003 05:24 pmWell, last night was a particularly hellish night at work, compounded by a phone call from my director who informed me that one of the day associates had complained about Jesse (the other associate) and me leaving early yesterday. I explained why we did (it wasn't busy, there were already 3 day supervisors in the area, and I was trying to cut back on my overtime) but it irked me that I had to explain myself.
I told her this and she then replied with a litany of complaints directed at our whole night management team, singling me out for "not supporting the day team," "never staying late," and some other random stuff. I had to laugh. I mean, I think I have logged more overtime than anyone else in the area with the exception of Theresa. I was pretty upset so the director suggested a meeting with everyone to get everything out on the table. I agreed, but to be perfectly honest I'm tired of defending myself and our team.
At the end of a very, very long night Jesse asked me if I was still mad. I said yes and he told me to let it go. I told him that I let too much go and he replied, "you can never let too much go." I thought a long time about what he said. Am I making things harder than they have to be? I'm not good at letting stuff slide, especially if someone is criticizing me. I know I am not supposed to, but I take it very personally. And, although it is not pertinent to the situation at hand, I resent them for making this the focus of my world when I should be focusing on my family during this rough period.
Can I please be normal and vapid for awhile?
I sent payment out for my dream cel. Oooh...I simply cannot WAIT!
There are approximately 3.2 MILLION cels on YJ that I want. Why does everthing come in waves? >_<
My Spike watercolor shikishi done by CB animator Hiroki Kanno arrived and it's GORGEOUS! *squeal* A scanner! My kingdom for a scanner!
And finally, I know I'm a dork but: Joey ends up with Pacey! *emits high-pitched squeal of a twelve-year-old obsessed with 'Dawson's Creek'*
