"Running on Empty "stars Judd Hirsch and former Phoenix gal pal Martha Plimpton, no? If so, that is an excellent movie. Haven't seen that one in ages.
I concur about the waste. If he had lived, I think that River would have been like Leonardo DiCapprio is today (albeit better at his craft).
Now I love his brother Joaquin. I highly recommend his performance in "To Die For" with Nicole Kidman.
