No time for love, Dr. Jones...
We are back from the wilds of South Padre Island and Shimakon. Much fun was had. Many toys and cels were lugged. JP was very sweet and got Chris Patton to do a personalized video message to me and my LJ in his Sousuke Sagara voice. Whee! I just need to figure out how to load it up.
Which reminds me: I need to finish paying my bills for this month so I can go back to paid LJ status with a clear conscience. ^_^;;;
Shimakon was definitely the "newest" con I have ever attended. It is in its state of infancy, which is both nice and annoying. The great thing was that JP's toy and cel panel was a hit. We had plenty of things con goers had never seen or heard of. And of all the cels I brought, guess which series I got asked about the most? Sailor Moon. I have like three cels from that series! LOL! Made me yearn for those of ya'll with real SM collections, so we could show them the choice stuff.
I had one person recognize Escaflowne and only one girl drooled over shirtless Spike. But overall, everyone was very nice and respectful of our stuff. They asked lots of questions and were very enthusiastic. I liked how involved the parents were; and we aren't talking nerdy parents bringing their kids to a con. These were blue collar folks who were involved enough in their kids' interests that they could identify plenty of anime and talk about it with fair knowledge. Ah, Mexican parents. Ya gotta love 'em! *grin*
There wasn't a whole lot going on, but the voice actors were very available, each giving a couple of panels and constantly hanging with the fans. There were a couple of video rooms and the cosplay, although sparse, was not without some serious talent. The dealer's room was wee, but that was good news for my wallet. We got a good 30 minutes of sand and ocean and sun, which was all I needed to get a light burn. The hotel was decent, nothing fancy. All in all, a good time. The con chair asked us to come back next year, but we are undecided. We took a grand total of 3 suitcases full of cel books and a trunkload of toys. Pain. In. The. Ass.
So, we'll see...

Off topic, but I do so love the Captain Obvious flavor of the local paper, with such gripping headlines as "Retiree tab could be crushing." No effing way!! Reeeeally?!! OMG! It's the scoop of the century!!
Last century...
Alright, I'm putting the snark away. Going to bed, because a 5-hour drive+6 hours of sleep+12 hour work day do not a happy Melissa make.
'Night, all.

I fear I will never not be a cel collector. I have to find you and share with you my newest find. I think you will be able to appreciate it. It's going to cost, but it will be SO worth it!!!

Should I show you? I should, I really should. *will be paying for it for a little while and I DON'T MIND AT ALL*
Full sized image from seller here.
What do you think?? *has been bursting with wanting another cel collector to fan with*
YAY for car paying off in February!! I know that's such a sense of relief on the horizon. Decreasing any debt = GOOOD!!

I mean, wow. Wow. I knew it was gonna be a kicker 'cause you have those dreamy OP/END CCD cels, but this one is just too perfect. Beautiful. Suoh with wings. Aieeee! ^_______^
Congrats on such a FABULOUS cel. Can I ask who sold it to you or is it hush-hush? And since I'm asking cel questions - did you ever deal with Pocket? After my last big purchase from them, I didn't visit for a long time and the next time I checked, the website was gone. Again. No email or nothing, like they normally did. Just curious...
Anyhoo. I am totally envious!!! ^_~

Thank you so much! I'd like to keep it quiet for now where I got it, until I determine if he/she has more that could be acquired. I hadn't bought a cel in AGES, but that almost makes getting this one that much sweeter.
I dealt with Pocket on a couple of occasions, though I am caught flat-footed as to remembering exactly what cels I bought there. But I never received an email, either, so if they're still out there I'm in the dark. Would love it if they'd surface again, though.
*basks in your envy, and throws plenty of envy your way* I still covet most every CCD cel in your collection, you know. ^___^

Well, that cel is just the bees knees, sweetie. I'd be hovering about two feet above the ground right now!
I think my last big cel purchase was from Pocket (Touya holding Yukito from THAT CCS episode). Oh, well. I have been asking a few people, just to see but nothing has surfaced yet.
Yay for new GORGEOUS cels!!!

*had to jump over to your gallery and look at THAT cel from THAT episode* It still makes me wibble, and I had to pay Seiji a visit, too. I think he may be my most favorite of all of yours, and considering some of the CCD cels you have that's saying something. =)
I really need to throw my celbooks into suitcases, my suitcases into the car, and just come south. We could have our own cel convention. XD

I am thinking that I need to update that website. But I don't because I can't upload anything else. Here, I sigh at my laziness. >___<
Yay, cel gathering! I'll be waiting, with bells on! It would be so nice to get together. And drool.
LOL...that sounded bad, but you know what I mean!

In the meantime, I am being cheap. And only 3 icons. T_T

I don't *need* all those icons, but it's just another in a long line of silly little addictions. ^_~
