Oh, the badness!

Teehee. Stayed home today. VPN-ed in for a little bit, but now I am surfing the interwebs, drooling over new cell phones. I am particularly admiring the pink Black Jack II and the fact that AT&T gives my company a discount on the service is making it VERY tempting...

I love "dream" shopping...

And later, JP and I are going to go see Dragonball Evolution. LOL!

I'd like a full report on DB:E. I'm not really into manga or anime, but I've been seeing various reports about this movie for more than a year. I guess the initial reviews haven't been very positive :(

Oh, yeah...the movie? Not so great. BUT. It had a couple of moments.

First of all, Chow Yun Fat was pretty good as the lecherous but talented master. Unfortunately, he was the only actor with any charisma and he could not carry that crappy storyline by himself. James Marsters was woefully underused as the evil Piccolo.

The pros: Chow Yun Fat, a couple of good fight scenes, and the whole underlying 'nature vs. nurture' theme.

The bad: Plot was incomprehensible, story was rushed, most of the actors were too inexperienced to carry it off.

I am not a fan of Dragonball, but I appreciate the effort (although not much else). ^___^

Poor Justin Chatwin (Goku). Yet another bad career choice. Just because he's cute doesn't mean he can carry an action movie. Sigh.

He is cute and was actually very likeable in his role, but he got lost in the spectacle that was the movie. :(
