melcreada: (all this bullshit)
melcreada ([personal profile] melcreada) wrote2010-08-30 10:49 pm

Why isn't this story on every single news show?!

Okay, so let me get this straight: the group that is funding the Islamic mosque near ground zero is also one of the PRIMARY SHAREHOLDERS of Rupert Murdoch's news dynasty, AKA Fox News, AKA the network that has been up in arms about the whole mosque thing since the beginning?! Please tell me this is a joke...a horrible, disgusting joke. You are telling me that Fox News is financially supporting an action they supposedly deplore and using it as a scare tactic to rouse the uninformed into a hysterical tizzy?

I feel like vomiting. This is their opinion of America: we are a bunch of dumb fucks who will believe whatever is on the TV. Seriously.

You are most welcome, m'dear.

Also, j'adore your "All this bullshit made me strong, motherfucker" icon. ♥! (In return, you get Nathan Fillion hugtiems, because those are the best hugtiems ever.)

Hug me forever, Nathan Fillion!!!

You will never guess who I saw last night - Sara Watkins! She is traveling with Garrison Keillor's Prairie Home Companion! Love, love, love! She was awesome...

Hee. I waffle between the best celebrity hugtiems ever: Fillion hugs (which I imagine are warm and solid and all-encompassing, because I apparently lust after the man a lot in my lizard brain?) and Christina Hendricks hugs are usually toe-to-toe on that particular astral mat. I think maybe if I just laid my head on her ample bosom, I would find the secret to world peace.

I also think I need more Starbucks.

BUT.

The point is!

EEE, Sara Watkins! Peanut-sized musical genius! Her bow is as tall as she is! HEARTS TO INFINITY. And just -- oh, man. As much as I adore her solo album, I love, love, love seeing her live, because her voice has this richer, rougher quality. (I was in tears when I saw her a few months ago and she covered John Prine's "Mexican Home." <3333) I demand show deets, ladyface!

OMG, I am so in love with Christina Hendricks! I want to dress her up in an array of beautiful clothes and just look at her. And then we would go out for cakes and tea. *sigh*

Oh, yes! I wrote about the show in my latest journal entry. Sara was incredible! I was ashamed I didn't know more of her stuff right off the top of my head. Her voice was GORGEOUS, live. It just filled up the theater...beautiful, beautiful. And damn, can that woman fiddle!!! She kinda beefed a yodel, but was totally cute about it. *pinches her cheek*

Sara is adorable — I cannot even. She's just wonderful; I've been fortunate enough to catch her three times live, and every show has been phenomenal. And this might be one of my all-time favorite YouTube clips in the history of history, no lie.

If you don't have her solo album, feel all kinds of free to yoink it here, bebe!

FFFFF, no thanking, bebecakes! I'm happy to share. EEE, Sara. ♥ Swear to the dear and fluffy Lord, her cover of "Pony" can bring tears to my eyes.

And, hee, that clip! She's not even a half-pint, she's like ... a quarter-pint. (Is that, like, half a cup?!)

Well, it's not Fox that's funding it, but one of their part-owners is Muslim. Like, a really rich Saudi, I believe. So yeah. He's helping to fund the mosque. And Fox hopes no one realizes that he also funds them. XD

Frankly, this is why I follow news on the fake news shows. Because they can make me laugh about something that might normally give me an aneurysm.

If you haven't seen Colbert's and Stewart's coverage of the topic, I recommend checking it out. They're funny. *hugs*

I know, thank goodness for John Stewart!!! I am just flabbergasted...and living in a deeply conservative state just adds to my fury. I am surrounded by Republicans and not just any old Repubs, but fervent Tea Party types. *vomit*

Yeah, I remember that feeling. :\

The gorge, it rises. ^_~

I am calmer today, but when I first heard the news, I literally could not process my rage. *sigh*
