Am still awake because I feel oogy. Something I ate, methinks.
I have purchased Canta en Espanol by Eydie Gorme & Trio Los Panchos and am having mega flashbacks. My parents used to fight a lot when I was small. I guess you could say they were both a little wild, hard drinkers, and each used to getting their own way. They loved each other and still do, but when they were younger they were fiery. So, playing this music brings it all back, the good and the bad. But I like remembering. Surprise, surprise.
So, me and my nostalgia now bring you a movie meme I picked up...somewhere.
1. Name a movie that you have seen more than 10 times: The Peacemaker (didn't see that one coming, eh?) The Kid and I used to watch this incessantly and I still watch it when I can't sleep or am anxious.
2. Name a movie that you've seen multiple times in a theatre: Munster Go Home (Saturday matinees on the base in the Philippines didn't have a lot of variety). Surprisingly, I have only seen LotR three or four times in the theater...
3. Name an actor that would make you more inclined to see a movie: Viggo Mortensen has made me see movies that I normally wouldn't look twice at. Sandra Bullock will also reel me in because I find her charming.
4. Name an actor that would make you less likely to see a movie: Ugh, I cannot stand Tim Allen. For reals.
5. Name a movie that you can quote from: Any Mel Brooks movie; I can practically recite The Secret of NIMH word for word.
6. Name a movie musical that you know all the lyrics to all the songs: Um, name one that I DON'T know all the lyrics to, LOL! Meet Me in St. Louis and My Fair Lady are my two faves.
7. Name a movie that you have been known to sing along with: The Little Mermaid (who can resist 'Kiss the Girl' sung in a Jamaican accent?)
8. Name a movie that you would recommend everyone see: My Neighbor Totoro, for the simplicity, fear, and wonder that is childhood.
9. Name a movie that you own: *snort* How about the one closest to me? Murder By Death. It rocks and I quote this one a lot, too.
10. Name an actor that launched his/her entertainment career in another medium but who has surprised you with his/her acting chops: Jon Bon Jovi and The Rock. I mean, I don't think either one of them will win an Oscar, but they are surprisingly natural and convincing on the big screen.
11. Have you ever seen a movie in a drive-in? Yup, when I was very wee!
12. Ever made out in a movie? Oh, yeah. In high school.
13. Name a movie that you keep meaning to see but just haven't gotten around to it: Burn After Reading
14. Ever walked out of a movie? Spy Hard. I stand by my decision - that shit was painful!
15. Name a movie that made you cry in the theatre: Oh, jesus. Everything makes me cry. The one movie where I totally lost it, though, was The Orphanage. We are talking sobbing. JP will verify. Embarrassing!
16. Popcorn? nom nom nom
17. How often do you go to the movies? We go pretty regularly, at least once or twice a week.
18. What's the last movie you saw in the theater? Slumdog Millionaire. It was the best movie I've seen in awhile.
19. What is your favorite/preferred genre of movie? Romantic comedies, period pieces, and chop socky get a large portion of my love.
20. What was the first movie you remember seeing in the theater? Bambi. Very traumatizing. I couldn't get over the mother's death and to this day, I really don't remember much of the movie after that.
