I received a Kindle for xmas last year. It is quite nice and handy. I am a lover of the tactile book experience as well, but the electronic variety are much more practical for traveling, etc. Getting an e-reader does not mean you won't buy paper books again. I have purchased a few real books since the Kindle. Think of an e-reader as a convenience device, not a replacement. Kind of like how an iPod was a means to carry around your music, but your true collection is at home (on cd, vinyl, hard drive, etc).
