Feeling better now that I've slept. Was a bit grouchy last night.
JP and I went to dinner with Nay-nay, who came down from Austin just to see me like the total sweetheart she is. They seemed to get along, which made me happy. They are two strong personalities and I very much wanted them to like each other. ^_^
I tend to be attracted to people who are outspoken, opinionated, brutally honest, etc. This is odd to me, because I am none of these things. As my boss likes to say, "Melissa you can always make bad news sound good." I am the diplomat, the mediator, the one who agrees to see whatever movie you want or eat at the restaurant you pick. Which I think explains why such forceful personalities are attracted to me. ^_~
It's not that I don't have opinions and preferences, it's just that I don't tend to have many intense likes and dislikes. Sushi? Sounds great. Indian? Fantastic. Kentucky Fried Chicken? Love it. I think sometimes that strong predilictions close a person up to experiences. Of course, this may come across as a bland personality but what can I say? I can't apologize for the person that I am. There are some things that I am adamant about (if you go out for dim sum and someone recommends the chicken feet, DON'T DO IT), but most of the time I treat every experience as something new. Even if my good sense tells me different. LOL...
Good news? I got my review and was just blown away. I thought my boss was going to ream me on certain aspects of my performance lately, but she just gushed. Wow. And the best part? A nine percent raise, baby! wOOt! Now I'm waiting for something bad to happen *looks fearfully over her shoulder*
Am very happy and content at the moment.
And also, for some reason, really have a fantastic urge to go buy a long scarf, like the Gap Fair Isle scarf. Isn't it preeety?
