I can't believe I forgot to mention this, but The Incredibles ROCKED! Great movie...funny and poignant and sweet and fannish. <3 And the little sheep in the cartoon short before the movie!!! Run, go see it now! ^_^
I have quasi-finished yet another half-assed assignment for my class. I honestly think I am trying get a bad grade on purpose. The woman will not give me anything lower than a B, no matter how little time I spend throwing a writing project together. This is not bragging, this is alarm. What kind of education am I getting here? I'm not really learning anything except that, when pressed, I can whip out 20 or so pages in under a day (non-proofed). ANYWAY. Mel is ready for a little break.
In other news, I am both happy for and jealous of

I am looking at maybe buying a house in the spring. More on that as it becomes available. All I have to say on that now is, "Eep!"
Lament (O how all things are far removed)
O how all things are far removed
and long have passed away.
I do believe the star,
whose light my face reflects,
is dead and has been so
for many thousand years.
I had a vision of a passing boat
and heard some voices saying disquieting things.
I heard a clock strike in some distant house...
but in which house?...
I long to quiet my anxious heart
and stand beneath the sky's immensity.
I long to pray...
And one of all the stars
must still exist.
I do believe that I would know
which one alone
endured,
and which like a white city stands
at the ray's end shining in the heavens.
