I think I'm too shallow to enjoy 'Saikano.' It is supposed to be this profound and poignant anti-war story of love and angst, but when Chise is sitting next to her boyfriend and telling him she's now an ultimate weapon, JP and I looked at each other and burst out laughing.

Tell me truthfully...is this a series I need to watch in Japanese? We were watching the English dub.

I have no soul. Or maybe I just need to watch more than two episodes. And perhaps JP needs to stop cracking jokes about me being the ultimate weapon. Although his impression of 'Mecha Melissa' was quite enjoyable.

Off to enjoy some Ella Fitzgerald and pretend that today at work never happened.

I sort of refuse to see Saikano after watching a few music videos and all I could do was scream "sicko pervert rapist" at the main guy character >.< I know, I know not fair at all to the poor guy, but the art style with the perma-blush and drugged up coma eyes make me think bad %#$@ is about to go down!

Actually, I'm just gonna blame JP for my non-enjoyment thus far. He was cracking jokes and making me laugh and otherwise preventing my serious appreciation for this masterpiece of "pervert rape theater."

I watched the series because there were so many music videos out there based on it. Let's just say it's not my type of anime. ^^;; (Where's the white hair bish with wings!?) If you like little girl with guns... lots of guns, then you'll love it. ^_~
