melcreada: (dia de los muertos)

So, kind of on a whim, I participated in a 5K walk at work today. It wasn't bad - my legs hurt a little and I have a blister on my right foot, but otherwise I feel pretty good. I finished in just under an hour, which isn't bad considering I haven't been exercising at all lately. I think I will reward myself with some sushi tonight and wash it down with a $2 bottle of wine. Wot, wot!

Last night we drove to Austin to see Dave Willis and Dana Snyder of Aqua Teen Hunger Force do their comedy/improv bit at the Alamo Drafthouse. It was pretty damn funny, let me tell you. They were gross and profane and I loved it! Pretty good time...we met them afterward and that was fun, too. Even Master Shake had a good time...

I like this prompt...

I find that now I am attracted to people who are like me in interests and beliefs but completely opposite in temperament. In the past, I tended to gravitate to my polar opposite in all respects, but that got real old real fast. I don't think that people have to have common interests to have a successful relationship, just respect for one another and a forbearance for each others' weaknesses. Lots and lots of forbearance.

I think all that ballyhoo about open communication is fine, but the most important thing is acceptance. We are who we are. You can dress us up, but it's the same old stuff underneath. Find someone who loves you before you have had your coffee, when you are PMS-ing, or when you have no makeup on and I guarantee that they are a keeper. ^_____________^
