Cartoon Network is bringing sexy back. I myself am
Spent the weekend with Nay-nay in her newly-purchased, ginormous house. It's about twice the size of mine, with 5 bedrooms and 5 baths. It also has an extra lot attached to it. o_O Danny and her will be swallowed by all that space! We had much fun, wandering around Georgetown and Austin, shopping and talking and eating and talking, lather, rinse, repeat.
On Saturday night, we went to a special event her friend Willie was having. Willie just opened her own pottery painting store in Round Rock and she was having a "diva" night where you could go and enjoy finger foods and wine while painting your grand masterpiece and when finished, you could get a hand massage. It was a lot of fun, although I do not have the talent or the steady hand to make anything beautiful. I did, however, aquit myself fairly well with a cat food dish. *nods*
I love being in Austin. Not only does it remind me of being a young, crazy college student, it just has this great energy and vibe. I can't explain it exactly because it goes beyond just being a college town. The level of education, the local culture, and just a feeling you have when you are out and about: like yuppie hippy-ism, but not pretentious or annoying. Just a great attitude. A positive outlook.
The traffic is off the hook, though. For super serious. I am so glad I wasn't driving because I would have had an aneurysm by now. It never let up for a second. Even my beloved, sleepy Georgetown (where my father grew up, incidently, and where I spent many summers and holidays) is lousy with traffic jams.
ANYHOO. I got back in this afternoon and a few hours later, JP and I went to have dinner at a friend's place (yet another gorgeous house...so jealous). We just got back and now I am all FUCK! Because I forgot we are having a potluck tomorrow (yes, another one) and I am making the guacamole salad. Must stop by grocery store before work and pick up the ingredients. Dammit.
