melcreada: (ouran totally made of awesome)
Okay, so quick because I am tired and thirsty and have to be at work in 6 hours.

Loved
- that the movie kept two of my favorite lines:
  "How was [Cho's kiss]? Wet."
"You have the emotional range of a teaspoon!"

- Lucius is a beautiful badass! Never really thought of Jason Isaacs as hot before, but yowza!
- I actually liked the dual between the Order and the Death Eaters at the end. It was just how I imagined a battle between wizards would be.
- Sirius calling Harry "James" just broke my heart.
- Sirius falling through the veil? Broke my heart again.
- Luna Lovegood was perfect!
- They did a really good job portraying how lonely and betrayed Harry felt. Just painful.
- The Ron/Hermione interaction was subtle and perfect. Yay!
- Bellatrix rocked my world. She bordered on caricature, but pulled it back just enough to be freaky-scary instead.

Missed
- "Weasley is our king!"
- "I caught [Kreacher] snogging a pair of my father's trousers."
- Would liked to have seen them play out the Weasley twins' departure from Hogwarts a little more. That is one of my favorite chapters.
- For some reason, Umbridge scared me more in the books.
- I missed the hopelessness and the desperation from the books, if that makes any sense. The overall despair, the darkness rising. I dunno.
- I wish Dumbledore would have made the statues move. Yeah. He's still a bad mofo, though.

I have more, but it's already been a couple of days and I forgot a bunch of stuff. I really liked the movie, but if I had either 1. memorized the book or 2. never opened the book at all, I would not have enjoyed the movie half as much. But overall, much love and very well done! Must see again immediately, if not sooner!

Did it screw with your eyes? It seriously messed up my vision for about a half hour afterwards. There was too much panning where things were not quite in focus, and lots of scenes where the characters weren't quite in focus when they were moving. I don't think it was the projector, because there were in-focus parts too.

I know the kid playing harry is getting older, but they certainly didn't try to age him down any (that haircut!) and he needs to eat. I started getting twitchy watching him in some scenes the way I get twitchy watching most female actresses when you can see tendons and muscles moving under their skin that you're really not supposed to be able to see on non-famine victims.

A lot of people I know mentioned this, but I didn't have a problem. Did you see it at the IMAX? I know what you are talking about, though - there were definitely some parts that looked kinda fuzzy.

Ah, yes - Harry is a little delicate in the movie. Which is weird because in regular pictures of him, I don't really see it as much.
