Am teh sad. Nothing to be done. Just um...summertime blues?
Anyhoo, this Deathly Hallows spoof gave me lots and lots of good belly laughs. Even a guffaw or two. It goes without saying that it is spoilerific. And funny as Hell.
So, the last book. I basically started crying when Hedwig died and kept that going pretty much throughout the story. Seriously - all those targets and the only two the Death Eaters hit were Mad Eye and a small owl shoved in the bottom of a sidecar? No wonder a 17-year-old kid wins against these asshats! Dobby's death hit me pretty hard, but Fred was the one I was really in shock over. Not Fred! I had to stop reading at that point because. Hello?! Fred and George are like the best thing about this universe (just about). *sigh*
I was a pile of mushy goo throughout the whole Snape/Lily back story and when Harry makes up his mind to die, with the ghosts of his loved ones around him. I sobbed and sobbed. Totally right there walking with him. OF COURSE Snape was my favorite part of the book because I was TOTALLY VINDICATED! I knew he was Dumbledore's man! And loving Lily so much that he would protect (albeit grudgingly) the one person who was a daily reminder of his loss and pain and failure. *wibble* You know unrequited love totally makes me its bitch each and every time so every word of that chapter pwned me. Mmmm, can't wait to see Alan Rickman tackle that. There is no one else I'd rather see doing those scenes...let's hear it for the tragic anti-heroes!
Random: I love how Harry draws the parallel between Snape, Riddle, and himself: the abandoned boys. And also how Hermione made her parents forget she even existed to protect them. I cried pretty hard at that point as well. And yay, Ron and Hermione kissed! I thought that scene was well-written and charming. I also got a little teary when the trio visited Luna's home and her bedroom had portraits of them with the word "friends" written all around them. Odd, isolated little Luna. Wah! And Luna being so reassuring at the Malfoy Manor and Hogwarts and Neville turning out to be such a hardcore badass? Hell yeah! Oh and Neville's Gran FTW!
The only thing that really left me feeling kinda eh was the epilogue (although Albus Severus - how sweet is that?!). I wish that instead Rowling had done appendices or something. What happened to George? Luna? Dean? The other Weasleys? How about a little explanation as to how Lupin and Tonks died instead of just mentioning them briefly in the list bodies? Ah, well. If that's my only complaint, then I guess she did alright by me. ^____^

I wonder if she just drew a name out of a hat? >____< The thing is, with all the heavy, dark material, killing one of the funniest characters was like killing two normal people. Er, if you get my drift. It just hurt more for some reason. Who is George going to play off now? *heart hurts*
Yes, yes, and YES! I live for HP on the big screen for Alan and Alan alone. Mmmmm...tasty angst-cakes with a side of bitter unfulfilled love-juice.
