My grandmother passed away last night. But, she was very old and I believe it was her time to go. I am trying not to let it all build up. Instead I will remember happier days when we would sit at the table in the kitchen, watching with hopeful eyes as she made her famous rice pudding or, better yet, banana pudding. Her life was a hard one, very typical of a Mexican woman growing up at the turn of the century. She was a sweet, strong woman. I am not going to grieve for her, but picture her babying her flowers in front of the two bedroom frame house my grandfather and his brothers built in the 1940s. That's what I want to remember, not the bad stuff at the end.

"Honey......have you seen my underwear....?"
"Oh, nevermind. I found it on top of the lamp."
and
"Were those cookies yours?"
You know my advice. Take any sadness and anger you may feel and channel it all into something productive---like blasting the hell out of the day managers at your meeting.
