melcreada: (samurai champloo jin)

Amazon has the blu-ray collection of Samurai Champloo on sale for $39. Yowza.

So, this week has been very blah and I have been blah in it. I am continually distracted and tired and grouchy and sore. The good news is I LOVE MY SHAPE UPS!!! I have worn them every day since they arrived on my doorstep. Totally worth the money.

Also, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] whitereflection , I have been inspired to play around with grilled cheese sammiches and I hit on a rather tasty version: seven grain bread, slice of American, slice of white cheddar, toasted well and served with baby dill pickles. YUMMERS. I will add the disclaimer that I am easily impressed with my own cooking. Although, I would like to mention that I made some kick-ass eggs in a basket with a side of fried tomatoes last weekend.

I have a very strong desire to put in Much Ado About Nothing, curl up under my blankie, and fall asleep. Think I might just do that...

Oh god, now it's 1am and I'm hungry. XD Both of those things sound freaking fabulous! And I so want to do the egg in a basket one--though Dad always called it toad in a hole (though looks like thats actually an entirely different dish, huh, interesting).

Heh, I have heard them called toad in a hole as well. ??? They are not hard to do, mainly just make sure you don't have the heat too high and use a thin spatula to flip them. It's always kinda exciting though, wondering whether or not you are going to break the yolk, LOL.

Oh, man -- I was just salivating over this the other day! Clearly, I must have m-o-a-r grilled cheeses (does that work as a noun? SURE) in my life.

Also, I have broken up with American. :O I don't know when I became a cheese snob! But there's something about the texture these days (or maybe that's because I just pick up the cheapy Kraft singles?).

Also, also, do I ever envy your eggs-in-a-basket skills! My one attempt was -- how do I put this delicately -- a trainwreck and a half. So I zoom to Cracker Barrel instead and ALWAYS ORDER IT. *g*

It is you! Here! On the live journal! YAAAAAY!

LOL, yeah I am not a fan of American, but mixed with the sharp cheddar it wasn't bad. Cheese snobs RULE!

OMG, I loooove Cracker Barrel's eggs-in-a-basket too...that's what prompted me to try it (my first time was terrible, too).
