Everyone's going to Expo and while I wish I was too, I must confess it would be more for the camaraderie rather than buying new cels, standing in line to get autographs, or watching anime in a large (yet stinky) auditorium. I find with every con I go to, it becomes less about the anime and more about the people I get to meet. So, *snugs* to you all and hope everyone has a faboo time!
I shall entertain myself by working this weekend! Yes, it's true. My back-to-back weekend has returned! Yeech. It wouldn't be so bad except my director has a mile-long list of things we have to complete pronto. Also, this past month we did not hit our production goals so they are going to be riding us to make up for it. This will pinch us in the ass later when bonus time comes around (I cherish no hope that I will get a full bonus next year).
I signed up to take an online class on Tolkien. Woo! JP laughed at my "trendiness" but you have to realize that I was a Biology major. I had very little opportunity to study and discuss literature that I really love. I took a few English classes of the very generic flavor, but that was it. So, bring on the heady, intense-yet-deeply-politic discussions!
I have decided to slow down on the cel collection and concentrate on my DVD collection instead. Shows to collect? His & Her Circumstance, Prince of Tennis, Heat Guy J, and perhaps Fruits Basket. I also want to have a go at Hana yori Dango (hee, I never knew it meant Boys over Flowers. What a truly excellent title!)
My goals for this summer (besides the Tolkien class) are:
- research and make a game plan for finishing second degree
- get a tan at the pool (swim, too)
- work out at the gym (such a slug since May)
- listen to some new opera
- collect at least two new anime series
- get JP settled and more comfortable in his new surroundings
- spend more quality time with the family, especially the sibs
