melcreada: (nana so tired)

I am so effin' tired. It's like the weekend never happened...

Speaking of which, on Saturday we went downtown to the IMAX and saw a couple of shows, including one about Lewis & Clark. It rocked. Then I went and bought a boxset of documentaries on the history of the United States for a whopping $5. ♥

On Sunday we saw True Grit. It was a really good movie - wonderfully acted by everyone and a gripping story, but it was ruined for me in the last ten minutes because of the horse. Maybe I am a wuss, but instead of remembering all the good, funny parts, it's those last scenes that keep repeating over and over in my head. If you love animals, it will be tough to watch. And that's all I will say about that. But I know it's a good movie because otherwise I wouldn't be so upset.

Well, even though it's only 9 o'clock, I am dying for bed. G'night all.

I'd forgotten about the poor horse; one of my FB friends seemed to be upset about what happened to Mattie. Yes, both were horrible, but also the sort of thing that actually happened in the 1870s-early 1880s.

I am such a wuss about animals! I think I can watch a human's suffering more easily than an animal. And I was glad Mattie survived and was loyal, smart-ass, and vinegar-y to the end. :)
