Back from Charleston. Much fun was had. Much food was eaten. Much driving was foisted. And much happiness was felt upon returning.
The Kid looks great. More buff, more fit. Must be all that running. He was in high spirits until we drove him back to the base. He held my hand in the car and I struggled not to cry (successfully...I didn't want to make him feel bad).
*sigh*
But we had a great three days wandering around, eating everything in site. We went downtown, visited Battery Park and the open-air market. I tried to interest my family of Philistines in the glorious historical goodness that is Charleston but all I got from that was, "Boooring! Let's go eat! Nerd!"
So, I gave up. We also had some great barbeque and drove down to Folly Beach so I could get my feet wet and walk along the beach. The bulk of our time, however, was spent talking to the Kid and catching up. I miss him so much, but this is an excellent experience for him. He's really growing up. *sniffle*
Can't wait to see him for Thanksgiving. Yay!
I have been trying to catch up on emails, etc but am sooo behind. Work tomorrow. Blegh.
But I must to bed soon...I have been up since 5AM and my body is not happy about it.
