Well, I went to buy my textbooks this morning. Each bookstore I went to had a different book for the same course and section number. When I pointed this out I got blank stares. Ah, it's nice to see that in this age of electronic wizardry, universities and their affiliates still manage to fuck things up. *sigh* Makes me nostalgic.
And get this, whippersnappers: my Freshman year of college we didn't even have telephone registration! No! We had to stand in line no matter whether or not we registered early. The horror! *grin*
Okay, on to what I really wanted to say and that is this: for all you LotR fanatics, here is One Meme to Rule Them All! This was way hard. I kept changing all my responses...

Was your favorite?
FOTR: Tough one. I basically *squeed* through the entire movie because I didn’t know what to expect going in. If I had to choose one, I guess it would be Sam’s “I’m coming with you!” Argh…devotion warming my black, cold heart…
TTT: the scene between Elrond and Arwen where he shows her the future: Arwen in a black veil at the foot of Aragorn’s tomb (it’s the one part of the movie that is taken straight from the Appendices in regards to Arwen)
ROTK: (tie) Houses of Healing/Gandalf talking about death
Gave you the most chills?
FOTR: When Gandalf lights his staff so the Fellowship can see Moria and the music swells. Yeah.
TTT: “Where is the horse and the rider?”
ROTK: the people of Minas Tirith throwing flowers as Faramir and his men ride through the streets
Made you cry the most?
FOTR: “I would have followed you my brother, my captain, my King.” *SOB*
TTT: “No parent should have to bury their child.” Gah, gets me every time!
ROTK: Are you kidding? I cried like a baby through the whole thing! I guess number one would be, “I’m glad to be with you, Samwise Gamgee, here at the end of all things.”

FOTR: when the Nazgul appears as they are running towards the Brandywine bridge
TTT: the Dead Marshes scene

FOTR: “It comes in pints?”
TTT: Eowyn/Aragorn stew scene
ROTK: Sam mustering the nerve to go over to Rosie and the subsequent faces of all the hobbits

FOTR: Bilbo’s birthday party
TTT: Entwives (they mentioned them!)
ROTK: the lighting of the beacons, culminating with Theoden’s “And Rohan will answer!”

FOTR: Sam’s eavesdropping scene (Sean Astin has a great delivery)
TTT: “Shall I describe it for you or would you like me to find you a box?”
ROTK: when they jump from the boat and Ghimli says to Legolas, “There’s plenty [orcs] for the both of us. May the best dwarf win!”
Had the best musical backup?
FOTR: Concerning Hobbits
TTT: I love the aerial shots of the Golden Hall with the Rohan theme
ROTK: (tie) Faramir’s charge with Pippin singing/the eagles saving Frodo and Sam
Needed to be more drawn out?
FOTR: Nothing, unless they decided to add Tom Bombadil
TTT: Nothing
ROTK: More Eowyn, Houses of Healing. Sam joining Frodo in the Grey Havens would have been nice. Would also liked to have seen Sarumon scene.
Could have been less drawn out?
FOTR: Can’t think of anything
TTT: I actually think the theatrical version moved very nicely. The EE was a bit too much IMO
ROTK: I think the Pippin-clinging-to-the-palantir scene lasted too long. All I kept thinking the first time I saw the movie was, “Come, on! Come on! You have soooo much to cover! Let’s get on with it!”
