Yes, I have nothing else going on right now...

Work continues to be ridiculously busy. I don't mind, but it does seem kind of pointless - in a company of this size, hundreds of projects get kicked off, only a few are ever completed 100%, and of those, even fewer have serious benefit. Seems like a lot of wasted time to me, but what the Hell do I know?

So, instead of blathering on and on about that twaddle, I give you: DREAM VACATIONS! Yes, I have many places I wish to visit and only a handful of them are financially possible right now (and let's face it, the grand ones are only happening if I win the lottery). So let's start with a biggie. Bora Bora!!! I would love to stay in one of those huts right on the water, with the glass floors and the stairways that sink into the clear blue water...

Haven't had a dream in a long time...

Before I forget (and I will), my name at Pottermore is DreamCrimson36. My tumblr  is melcreada, but it's not set up by any means...

Yesterday was Saturday A Go-Go!!! I got up early, got mah hair did (chopped off quite a bit because blow drying has become an epic chore, for me anyway), met mom and Paul for "dos-aritas" at Martha's Mexican Restaurant (margarita machine was not working properly so they were EXTREMELY runny...meh, not impressed), and then hoofed it home so JP and I could do some shopping (needed that like I need a hole in the head).

Finally got home, freshened up, and went to see Crazy, Stupid, Love (why is there a comma after Stupid? Is Crazy Stupid not defining Love?). It was actually a really good movie - I love Steve Carell and Ryan Gosling and they were both fantastic! I wasn't sure where they were going sometimes, but that's what made it so interesting. And the little byplay between the couples was great...the silliness, the banter, the knowing someone better than you know yourself...all those split second intimate moments just made the film for me. Go see it, you will love it!

I took a nap this afternoon and had a lu-lu of a dream.

Dream nonsense...posted because I love remembering my bad-ass ones. )

Ma, ma, ma

Went to see Sorcerer's Apprentice today and not only was it awesome (I love Jay Baruchel), but it gave me a pretty cool dream when I took a nap this afternoon. People and wizards lived side by side in a place that was a cross between America in the 1950s and Miyazaki's version of a European town. The dream was about them going to war and us regular folks holding down the fort. As in any wartime, we worried about food and refugees (my family and I for some reason were boarding a bunch of blonde sorority girls that were unpleasant and whiny). There was a long and involved storyline wherein I had something going on with a young wizard who was sent home because he was not ready for battle. Even in dreams, I am a cradle robber. He was terribly cute and nerdy and told me I was "good arms." It was sorcerer lingo and it meant that I was dependable or something. I don't know.

Went to the grocery store tonight and I swear I saw someone who looked EXACTLY like my TV boyfriend, Geof Manthorne from Ace of Cakes. *^____^*

Now, I am making sweet potato 'tater chips in the microwave. Nummy!

Okay, I think I have bored everyone enough. Laters!

Bitch, please!

I had a dream the other night where JP suddenly became Adam Lambert and he broke up with me (naturally!) and putting all the heartbreak stuff aside (it really hurt, yo), it was pretty funny because Adam/JP told me that he only wanted to take care of me and I promptly stood up and gave him double middle fingers before stomping off. I wish I could always be that spunky during a breakup. Ouch, though.

Well, Lady Gaga is coming to San Antonio, which is cool. HOWEVER. I have something to say about this whole ticket business. I figured if you are gonna go Gaga, you gotta go General Admission, right? Get all up close and personal with the stage and that whole theatrical train wreck. So, I got the password for the presale and tried to buy a GA ticket this morning (and at $85, not including fees, that shit ain't cheap!). But I kept getting 'none available.' So, I started messing around a little and discovered lo! you could buy a GA ticket IF you purchased a "special package" for $240. TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY DOLLARS. FOR ONE TICKET. THAT IS NOT EVEN A SEAT. *ahem* Anyhoo, I was incensed. Highway robbery! So, unless they change that rule once the tickets go on sale to the general public, count me out of the whole thing. Very disappointed in the Gaga gouging.

Also, in other news, I wanted to take a couple of days and go to the beach this weekend before the mad rush of summer, but my boss told me that the auditors are coming so I can't be off when they are in the office. What I don't understand is why my superstar of a co-worker can't handle them? You would think that since he got a perfect review, he would be better equipped to handle such a task.

I am in a foul mood, NGL.

ETA: since I am in a bitchy mood already, I would just like to say that although I love, love, LOVE the songs and dancing on Glee, I find the writing so, so LAZY. Dropped story lines, pointless plot contrivances to explain away all the awesome guest stars, and also the blatant emotional manipulation in lieu of real stories. Puke. C'mon, writers - the world is watching. Don't just sit on your collective asses and let the music and Jane Lynch carry the show. *sigh*

Thank goodness this week is over...

Waking up on a rainy Saturday morning at 7:30 AM is just WRONG!

So very glad this week is over, am not looking forward to Monday because apparently we are having an "Innovation" exercise (whatever the Hell that means) which is a game, but nothing is ever just a "game" at work. Should be loads of "fun."

I woke up because I had a bad dream and also my ovaries sorta hurt... )

Posting again? How shocking!

I ended my week with some nice OT, bought some jeans, pillow cases, and headphones (all on my shopping list), and started the Laundry (its sheer size and volume begs capitalization). I also bought a couple of $15 dresses because they were so cute and sometimes I like to wear dresses (usually with shorts underneath because my mother might check). True story: my mom let me wear mini skirts to school IF I wore biking shorts underneath and every morning, she would grab the hem of my skirt and lift it to check. It was pretty funny, because our dance team skirts practically showed our ASSES, but she never had a problem with that...

Ah, my mother...

I am weirdly happy today. Let's run with it and see how long it lasts!

Also, I had a dream last night where my sister got me a job with this small company and they were all so professional and kept telling me they couldn't wait to hear all my new proposals and how my sister told them such great things about me. The CEO was young and handsome and he liked me, but all I could think about was how I was a big phony and I didn't know what I was going to do once I got into the office. I was terrified. Boo!

Okay, off to make some eggs in a basket (I keep forgetting to buy a breakfasty side dish for them).

You say goodbye, I say hello

Feeling better because I got some stuff done: picked up groceries, colored hair so people will think I am still a whippersnapper (heh), and filed taxes (nice refund! Huzzah!).

I feel like I should be making phone calls to loved ones, but instead I am going to make my famous curry! YAY!

I had a dream but I am cutting it for possible TMI aka sexytiems...nothing graphic, though. )

Okay, time to be domestic...

Don't worry, David Cook - I still love you...

So, I had a dream last night where I started dating this guy (hope you like the serial killer look he's rocking):

For those of you who are not insane American Idol fans, this is Lee Dewyze from the current season. In my dream, we hit it off, I introduced him to my whole family, we started falling for each other, things were great, and then JP showed up. Awkward. I had to tell Lee that I was with JP and he was so hurt and upset and I felt so terrible about leading him on. Poor showing, Melly. : (

I included this picture because he was wearing a knit cap like this in the dream and also to show you that I have good taste in pretend boyfriends. LOL...

Any WTF?! dreams on the flist lately?

Boo hoo hoo

This is my new favorite icon, for serious.

Swell Season is coming to Austin this Sunday and I don't have to work Monday, but they are le sold out!

Why the face?!?! (this is a Modern Family reference...any fans out there of Al Bundy's new show? LOL).

Feeling better about my dream, obviously. I figure if anything did happen to him, his dad or his best friend would look me up. Probably.

ILU, BOOKS

Damn, I have a lot of books! I have been cleaning the bedroom and in every corner, shoved under the bed, beneath piles of stuff, there they are: BOOKS. I am reading a particularly lovely one called Jane Austen: A Companion. Let's hear it for the dollar bin at Half Price Books, wot wot!!

Also, I keep napping in the middle of the afternoon which sucks because it is throwing my sleep pattern off and also I keep having nightmares. WTH, self? Yesterdays was a particular doozy, where we were in a concentration camp in some tropical locale. The guards, oddly enough, were a bunch of African men with machine guns and they controlled every aspect of our life. Of course, we were trying to figure out how to escape but it was like they always knew when we were going to meet, etc. My skin is crawling, just talking about it...

I have a million things to do and my vacation is halfway over and I have completed NOTHING.

Fail-pants.

I dream in real estate...

Still sick - I feel like I have coughed up a lung, for reals. I am a little worried, cause my breathing is kinda wheezy but I'll give it one more day before giving in and going to the doctor/med clinic.

American Idol was rather anti-climactic for me. I really only watched the finale to see David Cook perform. ♥ ♥ ♥

The other night I had two fabulous, Nyquil-fueled dreams and that is about the only thing I have to report other than I can't believe I'm motherfuckin' sick for the upcoming three-day weekend. !@#$

My dreams, let me show you them. )

Okay, bedtime. Ugh. Wheezing!!!

I shop, therefore I spend...

JP is made of AWESOMESAUCE because he freakin' installed a car stereo in my Jeep. AND he's never done anything like that before AND it works and everything! I have had my factory radio for 8 years and the cd player hasn't worked for about 6 of those years. JP saw this one on clearance at Target for $45. It's a radio, cd player, AND it has an mp3 player jack so I can listen to my ipod. Huzzah!

I don't understand how my very straight hair gets so frizzy when it rains...

I took a nap and had a lovely dream about David Cook (no sexy tiems, though). He was getting ready for a show and we were just hanging out and talking. At one point, I was lying on the bed next to him, with my head on his shoulder, but again...it was all very innocent. Like he was an old friend or even my brother. *le sigh* My imagination...what a let down you are turning out to be...

A meme I can get behind - animated films! )

I am reading!!!

Fare thee well, LOL cat:

Dream stuff... )

I am reading a really good book I got out of the dollar bin at Half Price Books called Who Killed Kit Marlowe? One of my co-workers saw it on my desk and asked, "Who is Kit Merlot?" I told her he was a contemporary of Shakespeare, a playwright, and spy. No response. Oh, well. I tried.

I swear every time I look at the clock it says 12:19

I just had to say something (in one of my last entries) about being on an even keel, didn't I? My uncle died this morning. He was my dad's older brother, looked just like him, actually. I hadn't seen or talked to him in awhile, but I knew he was in the last stages of cancer. He was always quick with a joke, loved to tell stories, and when I was little, I could not tell him and my dad apart. I have a lot of good childhood memories of him and my aunt. It's weird: back in 2005 (I think?) my cousin, uncle, and grandmother died. Now, like an eerie pattern, it's happened again this year. I don't know what to think about that.

And now for something completely different...

It's a long day, living in Reseda

We went to our favorite Indian restaurant (er, actually the only Indian restaurant we go to) tonight and noshed on butter chicken, vegetable jalfrezi, and obscene amounts of garlic naan. Among other things. I only mention it because the jalfrezi was particularly delish, being both hot and sweet. Yummy!

Also, it looks like I may be going back to a four-day work week as early as next Monday. Rock on. The only thing is, no more short Fridays. I will have Wednesdays off instead. Still, not a bad deal. Also, there have been rumors of job title changes. If that happens, I will not get a raise (not a surprise), but my pay range will get a bump. Again, not a bad deal.

In less interesting news, I have started having recurring nightmares of late. They are very similar to the ones I used to have as a child - about a final world war, mass starvation, radiation poisoning, and basically every horrible thing you were ever told about nuclear war. The worst part about them is watching my family suffer. The desperation and the helplessness. The end of everything I know and love.

Surprisingly, I am not depressed by all this, although I am curious about the persistence of the dream. Why now? What's going on up there in my noggin? Hmmm...

It's so freakin' HOT!!!

Yanno, between my "sweet" overtime (I am in Hell, please to be putting me out of my misery) and Babylon 5 marthon (OMG - we are almost through season 3!), I have hardly been on LJ.

But Holy Moly - ya'll are posting like whoa! I can't keep up! ^_~

And I ain't catching up anytime soon, as I am out of town tomorrow through Tuesday. Nay-nay and I are going to Hoo-ston to see George Michael! Huzzah! Our seats are crap, but I'm sure it will be awesome anyway. And we are going to the beach! I need to remember to get something to remove tar. Ew! But so true...Texas beaches in general aren't all that great. A few exceptions, of course, but mostly...no. Well, as Jack Burton always says, "What the Hell."

Hmm. Speaking of Jack Burton, I recently drove by an enormous all-you-can-eat Chinese restaurant all decked out in neon and it kinda looked like Lo Pan's fortress at the very end of Big Trouble in Little China.

/randomness.

For now.

I am really enjoying B5, BTW. Although, at times it makes my brain hurt. Yes, sometimes I need it all explained to me.  I just love the idea of someone having this grand, elaborate story arc and taking it all the way through. It feels like reading a really good book. Only, I am not reading. I am sitting in front of the TV, eating popcorn and popsicles. But not at the same time.

Okay, I have to go pack, etc. See ya'll later!

Teenage wasteland, indeed...

American Idol results show: I'll miss your tight pants, Jason. Luckily, David likes to wear 'em too. However, his butt doesn't look as good. *sigh* YOU SEE?! I diss AI and now the television gods are PUNISHING me by making me addicted against my will!!! Shallowly addicted! Wait, is that possible?

MOAR American Idol! Can you handle it? )

And I talk, talk talk. And I talk, talk, talk.

Forgive the verbal vomit. Once I started, I could not stop.

I booked my trip to Cabo San Lucas. HOORAY! Money gone, gone, gone. BOO!

STP is coming to San Antonio. HOORAY!

In other news, we went to the Poteet Strawberry Festival this weekend. The 2.5 hours we crawled along the highway waiting to get into the parking area pretty much killed any burning desire I had for the rest of Fiesta (still going next weekend, though). But once inside, we saw my sister dance, I had a turkey leg (yum), and JP took a picture with a tiger cub! I am thinking a picture post is in order for next time...

I have seen movies and I guess I might mention that:

Run Fat Boy, Run is funny and sweet. Thandie Newton is so beautiful. Like, it's so unfair how beautiful she is.

Leatherheads is amusing and has a very old-fashioned feel to it. It figures that most people didn't really go for it, but as a fan of the golden age of Hollywood, I think this is a nice homage. Nothing fantastic, but still fun.

The Band's Visit is a little foreign film about an Egyptian police ceremonial orchestra accidentally finding themselves in a tiny Israeli town. Nothing happens, but that is the beauty of it all. Fans of Ghibli slice-of-life movies will know what I mean. I love stuff like that.

And since I am running on and on, I might mention that I have been editing a paper for a co-worker, as a favor. And, of course, she gave it to me at the last minute and freaked out when I made lots and lots of corrections. She has been calling and emailing me like crazy and I finally told her at work that I was too busy and she should have gotten it to me earlier. So, maybe I will have made two people cry this month. Yeesh. Pisses me off, though. I enjoy editing, but not for high-strung procrastinators who can't understand why I feel strongly about using the same tense in a paragraph.

Not in these paragraphs, but you know...in others.

I had a loooong, character-filled dream last night wherein I was having a passionate love affair with Gerard Butler. Only it wasn't the actor. It was a writer who looked just like him. Weird, as I don't even find him all that attractive per se. I was his research assistant or something and almost everyone I know was wandering around the dream. Sorry, JP - you were conveniently left out of it (my conscience's doing, no doubt).

American Idol lost hottie Michael Johns and while I was surprised, I really didn't care. This season just isn't doing it for me. I mean, I love David Cook's voice (although not his kewpie doll head) and I think Jason Castro has the beauty of an archangel (a stoned archangel). But there is little to no emotional investment for me. I do feel kinda sorry for David Archuleta because sometimes he looks a little lost and I think Brooke is really made of sugar and spice and everything nice, but WHO CARES?

Damn, I am such a grumpy bastard right now. Only ramen muscles can make me feel better! LOL...that is the weirdest, funniest thing JP has shown me in a while, I swear!

Leave it to my subconscious!

Last night I dreamed that JP's brother was Josh Hartnett and he was hitting on me! Huh. Some brother. The funny thing was I looked down at his hands and they were just like JP's and that made me really sad, like how could family act that way?

I don't know. It's just like me to take a fantasy dream and turn it into a tragedy.

I turned him down by the way.

*raises an eyebrow*
