It's a sin and a shame, but I have to admit that Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter looks pretty bad ass. I saw the trailer when we went to the movies earlier (best part of new job is the recognition events - every couple of months, we go to lunch, see a movie, and go home for the day...although I sometimes end up working from home, which is still cool but not as cool as ditching).

I thought I had learned my lesson with that whole Vampire!Darcy book, but apparently not.
melcreada: (infinite ways to fuck up)

My glasses broke today...so I super-glued them back together. The arm won't bend, but they work. Guess I'll have to look at getting another pair...although I am not due for another eye exam until May. Boo!

In other news, I am loving all the "Little House on the Prairie" flower and gingham prints Old Navy is putting out, but I realized that when I tried them on, I looked like I had gone missing from the cotton fields and that...just wasn't right. Oh, well. But if they bring back pinafores, I am all over that shit. I loves me some aprons!

We saw The King's Speech today and it was truly excellent. To be honest, anything with Geoffrey Rush is excellent, but throw in Colin Firth, sprinkle some Helena Bonham Carter, and douse it in British history and it goes above and beyond wonderful. Great story. Positively painful in parts - Firth's dread at public speaking is just palpable.

I didn't mention it, but work was totally shitty last week and I had my first "grown-up" meeting with the VP and the auditors and it didn't go well, so now I am considering running away from home. Anyone care to join?

Let's have a random post, shall we?

I saw Iron Man 2 last night and enjoyed it muchly, especially the scene near the end in  the Japanese-style garden, with flying flower petals and mecha, LOL.

Today we went to see Robin Hood and all the haters can step to the left, because I thought the movie rocked! And while I am disturbingly prone to loving Ridley Scott movies, I think this one was just a very original retelling with spectacular fight scenes. There were little things that bothered me, like Russell Crowe in general (just not a fan), the fact that his Merry Men didn't have enough face time (IMHO), and the little issue of the entire English army never showing up at all, even though they were supposedly right behind Robin (or if they DID return, where were all the Nottingham men? Dead?). But these are little quibbles. Mostly, I love anything that includes medieval England, bone-crunching battle scenes, hot archers, and the Robin Hood myth. Mmmmhmmm. Two thumbs up.

Then, we came home and watched Walt Disney's Robin Hood, which was totally awesome, too.

I recently bought the Kitchen Princess manga and have been tearing through it. I love this sweet, sappy shit. Also, I am dying to try the cupcakes made with pancake mix in paper cups. I'll let you know how they turn out!

Work tomorrow. Yuck.
