Lovely weekend
Apr. 7th, 2007 08:46 pmOnly 48 hours this week. Work is positively spoiling me. [/sarcasm]
We saw The Namesake yesterday and it was beautiful and heartbreaking and rambling. Just everything I love in a movie. I thought the relationship between the parents was richer and more developed than the son's breakaway and eventual return to his heritage. And although my family is not as traditional or culturally steeped in our own roots, I can appreciate the whole tug-of-war between being true to your ethnicity and being true to yourself when you have been raised apart from it. And also about hurting the people that gave you life just because you wish it were all different somehow.
Yeah.
Go see it, it's lovely.
Also, Old Navy is seducing me with all the cute, cheap shorts they are selling. Must. Be. Strong. I hardly ever shop there because their random sizing either fills me with excitable hope or utter dispair. A litttle consistency please!!! *ahem*
Well, I have some more FMP:TSR and Hana Yori Dango DVDs, so I'm off. Saturday night, oh Saturday night...
