Hope all the mommies on my flist had a good day! We went to my parent's house and my sister bought enough food for 20 people, even though there were only seven of us. *urp*

Dad is looking good, although he is not what I would call a good patient, always trying to do too much and pretend like he did not just have major surgery. His machismo is something to be reckoned with. The older he gets, the worse he will be - I am thinking of my grandfather, who was an ornery ol' cuss and my dad will probably go that way as well. *sigh*

I have been going through concert withdrawal or something. I haven't gone to one in forever. I really wanted to see Lady Gaga, but all four of her shows in Texas sold out by the time I realized I wanted to go. The Toadies will be in New Braunfels in August, but that isn't quite the same as a crazy, over-the-top Gaga extravaganza. Who else is touring this summer?

I have been re-watching Ouran Host Club and just laughing my ass off. It's holding up better than I thought it would. And speaking of anime, I really want to buy Special A and I would love to find Lovely Complex on DVD as well, although I do not believe the anime was ever licensed in the U.S. (???). I know I sound soooo 1999, watching anime on DVD, but the truth is, I don't like watching stuff on my computer (torrents, etc). Call me an old-fashioned girl, but I likes my anime on discs that I can watch on my semi-big screen TV and then put the cases on a shelf to admire.

What else? Oh, I found the cutest dress at Target but they had every size except mine (curses!). I also really want this dress (the back is beautiful), but again, it's not in my size and also I will not pay $60 for a dress because I am le cheap when it comes to clothes. I did, however, buy these incredibly cute sandals because it is practically summer which always means new shoes! Just like the beginning of every other season...

Okay, back to regularly scheduled Sunday night...ugh back to work tomorrow.

I had to lay the smackdown at work today. Felt good.

Also, Target is having a pretty good sale on Iam's cat food right now. This made me happy, as well as the sweet-ass discount the proprietor gave us on our dinner at Simi's Indian Restaurant. I love it when he does that. ^____^

Listening to Glen Hansard tell a poignant ghost story on the live tracks of the deluxe version of Strict Joy make me all wibbly and goose-bumpy. Why the audience is laughing at parts THAT ARE NOT FUNNY is baffling to me.

Okay, I am going to finish this meme (someday)!

Day 18 → Whatever tickles your fancy

I bought these darling boots that were 60% off at Amazon. I am going to totally rock them at work tomorrow for about 4 hours and then limp around for the rest of the day because that's how I break my shoes in. Yeah.

So, now that ya'll know about my dark and demented dream world of late, I figured I would talk meaninglessly about shoes! Hurrah!

Well, the Kid's wedding is in less than two months. I have the dress (two, actually, and by some weird coincidence, they are both black and white). I just have to decide if I want ankle length and gauzy or mid-calf and empire waist/accordion skirt. Both are very pretty and I love them so much, I might just do a costume change mid-way through the event. LOL!

But on to the serious stuff. I am doing silver jewelry and shoes and am trying to decide amongst fancy, not-so fancy, or comfy. The only rule here is the sandal must be sparkly! I figure I can spurge on shoes because the two dresses were clearance rack finds. wOOt!

And since I am talking about shoes anyway, I have to admit a long-held, secret desire to own a pair of nice cowboy boots. I never have, mainly because up until a few years ago, you would NEVER see me in jeans (Texas, what have you DONE to me?!). Plus Western-style tends to run narrow and my wide foot tends to not like that. But now? I think I am ready. In my crazy-ass dreams, I think I would wear these (they come in wide width) or perhaps I could pull these off...but then I wake up and wonder if they make faux cowboy boots that would run a little cheaper.

This completely delusional shoe dream was brought to you by Zappos and Bootstar!
