The Trials & Tribulations of Dinner
Mar. 11th, 2003 09:41 pmWell, I thought it would be kind of neat to make dinner tonight. I saw a lovely and simple recipe on the Food Network website so I scurried off to the grocery store for a couple of ingredients (one of which I forgot because I started leafing through the Hairstyle magazines up front).
And here is the account:
7:05 - boil pasta (easy)
7:10 - chop garlic and tomatoes. Damn! Forgot the red pepper flakes.
7:20 - sautee garlic (hmmm...garlic looks a bit mushy and yellow. Ew.)
7:30 - finish very simple sauce of squishy tomatoes, garlic, and basil. Proceed to toss it with some pasta.
7:33 - Hmmm...needs salt.
7:36 - Give up pretending to like what I made and start eating the plain pasta straight from the colander
7:40 - Bust out the picante sauce and continue to eat pasta dipped in hot sauce.
I am very, very sad. But at least I can laugh about it. Sort of.
Am tired and don't want to go back to work. I've had so many days off that my mind is quasi-convinced that I'm on vacation. Tomorrow will be a rude awakening.
Been kinda down in the dumps today. I think all the rain and fog might have something to do with it.
Finished updating my cel gallery. Woo! But the latest scans seem to reinforce my theory that the scanner is on its last legs. Should start shopping around to price a new one.
