Grateful

I had a lovely birthday, thanks in no small part to my friends and family who were determined to show me that, in spite of my many foibles and silliness, they love me anyway.

So, thanks

- to wonderelf, whose ecard was the first thing I saw when I woke up and checked my email. Half asleep, you had me giggling, which is a wonderful way to wake up.
- to shiroibara and iammine for the well wishes on my flist: December babies love being singled out, especially when their birthdays fall so close to Christmas. ^_~
- to the young men playing Christmas music on their sax and trombone, for making me want to walk around the shopping center instead of running in and out of the one store I needed to go to.
- to Nay-nay, who snuck out of work to call me and wish me a happy birthday while reminding me about our spa trip at the end of the week.
- to the girls, who all called or emailed birthday wishes, insisting we go out and celebrate soon.
- to JP, for letting me pick out what I wanted to do today: dinner at Shogun and a movie, Chronicles of Narnia (excellent, BTW - I highly recommend it).
- to my family, who all called and sang me many renditions of "Happy Birthday" and also for taking me to dinner last night. All the prezzies rocked, too.
- to everyone else who wished me many happy returns: I am not worthy of so much love and attention.

Birffffdays! Hurrah! Am sorry for the belatedness, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Am so so so glad it was amazing and wonderful and not even bamboo splinters under your nails could bring you down. *hugs*

And now, am replaying that awful torture scene from the first season of "Lost" -- where Sayid actually does that to Sawyer. Eep.

But, the point is! Lurvely post, sweetie, and further proof that people *do* journal when they're happy, not just angsty. :-) A friend and I have this argument all the time, and hurrah! I have even more to back up my claim now!

Heh, yeah that's the scene I was thinking of when I mentioned the bamboo splinters. LOL...

^_____^ I do post plenty of angst, but I love writing when I'm in a good mood. When I go back and re-read my entries, I can remember that I was happy.

Narnia!!! I think I might go see it again. Just cause.
