Happy Halloween!!!
I just got back from my weekend of David Cook concerts. He sounded fantastic and was in fine form. His co-headliner Gavin Degraw and their opening act Carolina Liar were both great, too. Unfortunately, neither venue was anywhere near capacity, although Austin's ACL was probably three-quarters full (Houston Arena was maybe one-third full...). So a little depressing, but the fans were excited and loud, so that was nice. DC actually walked through the audience, getting everyone up on their feet. It was hilarious! He walked right in front of me but I didn't get a good picture. I should have sat down so he would have pulled me out of my chair but I don't think fast on my feet...so to speak. Oh, well. He's still adorable and his voice is just yummy. Gravelly goodness.
I took today off toeat candy relax after all that driving, do some chores, and buy some candy (we are such procrastinators, OMG). I have been toying with the idea of doing Nanowrimo this year, but I have no real hopes of finishing. I just like the idea of forcing myself to write something - it seems like the older I get, the less I write because I am so preoccupied with "life." But it's good to make time for the things you really love. So, I think I will take another stab. All I need is an idea! LOL...

Date: 2011-10-31 07:03 pm (UTC)From:I am home because I have the plague, and am sparing my coworkers from listening to me hack. (I'm bringing the consumption back? Question mark?) I finally forced myself off the couch and into the shower two hours ago, and have just returned from Target with four ~giant~ bags of the good stuff in tow. (We'd better get some little ghoulies! Me and my roomies cannot be left unattended with all this chocolate and caramel and peanut-buttery goodness.)
So, I am settling in with a venti no-water chai from Starbucks, in the hopes that I will get my voice back, and some choice episodes of Buffy. Hell yeah, Halloween for grown-up nerds!
Also! If NaNo is looking too daunting? (Which, uh, it always is, for me, as I cannot write long to save my life, or anyone else's.) Have you taken a gander at

Date: 2011-10-31 10:42 pm (UTC)From:If you bring consumption back (the chorus of Sexy Back is roaring through my head for reals), can I call you a "lunger?" Or is that too rude? I think that might be rather a rude thing to say...
David Cook is FABULOUS and let me tell you, Gavin is magnificent! Boy can SANG. He did a mash up of The Script's Falling to Pieces and Peter Gabriel's Your Eyes (best song in the universe) and out sang both those artists! Good stuff.
HAHAHAHA - JP and I just bought 3 huge bags of candy "for the children" (you know, the 5 or 6 that show up every year).
Buffy!!! JP and I have decided to take that series from the top and watch the whole darn thing again. But not tonight - tonight is Charlie Brown, Garfield, and Disney's Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Yis.
Oooh...I have already requested an invite! That looks totally more my speed, LOL.
Feel better, darlin'!!!
