I have spent all morning being domestic and shit. I made breakfast, did a couple of loads of laundry, washed the dishes, and mended a torn pocket. MENDED. Now, I am making potato salad for the oven fried chicken I will be whipping up later.

Sometimes I kinda like being domestic, staying at home and working on things where there is a tangible sense of completion. All I need is to find some sucker to pay all my bills so I can do just that...LOL!

My mystery date with JP on Saturday was a trip downtown to the Magik Theater to see the Ju Percussion Group. They are awesome! If you ever get a chance to check them out, do it. They are talented and obviously enjoy what they are doing.

In news of the retarded, I have been checking obsessively to see if more tickets for the Swell Season were going to be released (with no luck) but on the day of the actual concert (yesterday) I forgot to check (because I am a dumbass) and guess what? They released more tickets! I realized this when I checked twitter at around 11PM last night. Ugh. Oh, Stupidity, why do you never leave me?

My trip was fantastic! The fewest possible things went wrong, I saw just about everything I set out to see, and had the most fun with my two awesome guides. ^_____^

Many thanks and a pile of chocolate to [profile] wonderelf and her roomie for showing me around, taking me to the best damn food joints, explaining Japanese TV shows (Bistro SMAP FTW!), and dealing with me all up in their personal space for 10 days. Love ya'll something fierce.

I have a gajillion pictures and videos, including 5 seconds of some cheeky hosts trying to liven up my shot of Dotonburi Street, plus a bunch of stories that I should write down before I forget (and I was doing so well on my daily journal until I hit Tokyo). Now that I think about it...I can't believe I didn't take any pictures of us karaoke-ing. Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Of course, I have the jet lag from HELL, as evidenced by the time of this entry. Oh, well. At least I don't work until Wednesday.

Home to find packages (THANK YOU, [personal profile] white_death...I love the ring! Mmmm, delicious books. OMG, I can't believe you are mid-move! Lemme know where to send/Paypal you the monies for shipping Yay, I can read! Will be sending it to you ASAP!) and butter chicken from our favorite Indian restaurant (JP is such a sweetie).

Be it ever so humble and all that jazz.

Night, ya'll. ^________^

So glad to be in my own house again. Such that it is. Am very glad to be back with JP and the kitties too.

I am currently in love with the song River on the new Sarah McLachlan CD. I love its familiarity and that it was originally sung by Joni Mitchell. I love that it makes me sad and I love how it sounds like it was written just for me. Yeah.

I also am currently loathing the second Bridget Jones movie. I was watching it earlier and it ends with a message that basically says "Hurrah, even though I am THIRTY-THREE, I FINALLY found a man that will marry me!" Afterwards, I did what any unmarried thirty-three-year-old woman would do: I went downstairs and ate some cheese.

Stoopid societal conventions. Normally, I am all about being Abby Normal, but sometimes it's a little lonely, ne?
