Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate it!

My apologies - I know I owe emails and comments, but my family has driven me to brink of insanity (hanging on by my fingertips, people). With the Kid and Traci here, almost every minute of my day is occupied. On top of that, I have been having tummy problems all week, which is very unusual (cast iron stomach, here) and it has been exacerbated by the constant drinking and eating we do a la familia. And finally, my sinuses have decided to lead a revolt against the allergens and my poor, poor head has been feeling the aftermath. Just headache-y, tired, and PISSED OFF for much of this week, my beloved vacation and the first one I've had since the beginning of July. Oh, well. An event looked forward to with much impatient desire does not always brings its promised satisfaction. /P&P geekery.

Okay, now that THAT is out of my system, I can say I am very thankful for the insanity-inducing family. I am thankful that I still have a job in these woeful times and can buy presents for the people I love. I am happy that we are still all together, against the most incredible odds that say we should be missing a couple of people from the table today. Thanks to the powers that be for the large amount of joy and the small amount of sorrow that they have found fit to send me. And many thanks to my online friends, who constantly make me laugh and feel loved, even when I am by myself in front of a computer. Have a great day, everyone. ♥ ♥ ♥

Thanks everyone for the lovely comments about my new, streaky hair! ♥ ♥ ♥

Last night we went to a stargazing party with the local astronomy club, about 25 miles outside city limits. Everyone was super nice and a couple of them nerdily eccentric, but I don't mind that so much. You can see the silhouette of our telescope in the picture. Everyone there (and I mean everyone) had super nice scopes and were finding crazy stuff like the Pleiades constellation or the Blue Snowball Nebula. Ours was not that high-powered or fancy, but we did see Jupiter and four of its moons, which I thought was awesome! We also saw a couple of meteors and just kicked back and admired all the stars. A completely relaxing way to spend the evening and something I would never have done without JP, LOL!

Today was a much better day! I got to leave work early and spent the afternoon...napping. I am so productive! Also, JP got his telescope in the mail today and it looks awesome! Can't wait to try it out...

Many thanks and a HUGE *hug* to [livejournal.com profile] whitereflection  for the delicious dessert waffle! Omnomnom!

And, as requested, here ya go, flist - please to be telling me about yourself with this meme! ^_~

Just wanted to say thanks to all of you who wished me a happy birthday. And also *hugs* and a huge cuppa Starbucks to [personal profile] whitereflection for the v-gifts. ^____^ So weird you picked the champagne picture because I have been craving Asti for over a week now!

Birthday was very nice. Nay-nay sent me flowers. JP fixed the antenna on my jeep and bought me the Hello Kitty manicure/pedicure kit (score!). I also got some moola, gift cards for Amazon and Old Navy, Avon stuffs, and a most awesome ipod nano! Wot, wot! I are spoiled. It rocks, basically. ^_~

Everyone kept asking if I was depressed yesterday, but I really wasn't. I just always look like that. LOL...

Turning 35 is supposed to be a milestone I guess, but being the little overachiever that I can sometimes be, I freaked out last year. S'all good now.

Also, I caved and bought the Hana Yori Dango set from Right Stuf. Hee, hee! So bad.

I am totally in a baking mood right now. I want to make a million Christmas cookies, but I know after like two batches, I won't want to make anything again until next year.

Off to go clean the house some more. Dammit.

My trip was fantastic! The fewest possible things went wrong, I saw just about everything I set out to see, and had the most fun with my two awesome guides. ^_____^

Many thanks and a pile of chocolate to [profile] wonderelf and her roomie for showing me around, taking me to the best damn food joints, explaining Japanese TV shows (Bistro SMAP FTW!), and dealing with me all up in their personal space for 10 days. Love ya'll something fierce.

I have a gajillion pictures and videos, including 5 seconds of some cheeky hosts trying to liven up my shot of Dotonburi Street, plus a bunch of stories that I should write down before I forget (and I was doing so well on my daily journal until I hit Tokyo). Now that I think about it...I can't believe I didn't take any pictures of us karaoke-ing. Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Of course, I have the jet lag from HELL, as evidenced by the time of this entry. Oh, well. At least I don't work until Wednesday.

Home to find packages (THANK YOU, [personal profile] white_death...I love the ring! Mmmm, delicious books. OMG, I can't believe you are mid-move! Lemme know where to send/Paypal you the monies for shipping Yay, I can read! Will be sending it to you ASAP!) and butter chicken from our favorite Indian restaurant (JP is such a sweetie).

Be it ever so humble and all that jazz.

Night, ya'll. ^________^
