melcreada: (all this bullshit)

I am watching House Hunters International, trying not to hate on every single person buying their dream/second homes in Italy, England, Sweden, Hong Kong, Costa Rica, etc.

Wait. I take that back. I hate them all.

Reese's Dark might just be my favorite thing in the universe right now...

Tonight, my mom invited me over for dinner. She made chicken mole, Mexican rice, and refried beans with salt pork. Best. Meal. Ever. Ripped from the pages of my childhood. I think she knows I am having a tough time adjusting at work and did the one thing she could to make me feel better. ♥ Then my Dad put gas in my Jeep and they both listened to me rant and rave for a little while.

My parents rule.

JP went to PAX East and is currently living it up with his gaming and toy collector friends. I miss him, even though he just left yesterday. *sadface*

Between the news that parents are trying to prevent their kids from listening to the President's address (and yeah, I can see the kids being "brainwashed" by the Prez if they are as dimwitted as their parents) and the blurb about Chris Brown being angry that Oprah didn't reach out to him when she did a show about domestic abuse (because he has suffered SO much, poor thing!), I am LOL-ing over here.

It's times like this, that I want to take a bullhorn and stand next to these people and holler, "GET THE FUCK OVER YOURSELVES, YOU WASTES OF SPACE!"

Hmmm, maybe Chris Brown can recommend a good anger management therapist...

Exhausted!

All day Friday was spent in the company of my mother and sister, shopping for crap for my cousin's bridal shower and wedding. Around hour 4, I was starting to get irritated, but thankfully my mom and sister decided they had everything they needed except for the arras (couldn't find them), which shocked me because HELLO! We are in the Mexican-iest town in the U.S. Well, except Laredo, and frankly, with all the border violence, I'm not too pumped about visiting down there anymore.

Then yesterday was my last minute gift shopping, afternoon wedding at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens (lovely, even though not a lot was blooming except in the conservatory), hilarious minister that sounded like a cross between a Shakespearean actor and a TV Evangelist, dinner #1 at the Spaghetti Warehouse (good but slowest service EVER), wedding cake, and then a mad dash across town to my next party. I'm like the wind, baby!

At the Kona Grill, I sampled sashimi (fantastic), some nigiri sushi (adequate), and sparkling sake (tastes like a flavorless champagne - I loved it). Then we went back to the birthday girl's house for ice cream and cake (she is an admitted Narutard and had a picture of Neji screened on the cake...LOL). Then we sat around, gabbing while I tried not to die from all the crap I had eaten.

Came home around 10pm, returned a couple of phone calls, and fell into a deep and blissful unconsciousness.

The end.
