So we were out of the house by 3:30 and at the stores by 4am. We scored pretty well today. JP got a Playstation 3 (!!!) and we also got a big cat tower at a good price for the kitties. Also bought some comforters/quilts, lots of clothes (I love Old Navy), and a handful of DVDs. All in all, a pretty good haul. Came home in the early afternoon and passed out.

Tonight I went to visit Nay-nay, who is staying at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort which is, I kid you not, the swankiest place I have ever been to! In the main lobby there are two huge fireplaces that had been lit. They had a confectioner sculpt life-size deer out of white chocolate for a display as well as several gingerbread houses on all the tables and desks. There were familes hanging out, playing board games and outside by the pool they were having a do-it-yourself smores party (yum). In one of the ballrooms they were playing several movies and had free popcorn. After all this, we wound up at the bar having ridiculously overpriced drinks and lots of unshelled peanuts. Totally awesome. I am going back someday and gate-crashing for reals...

Fab Thanksgiving with the familia. So. Much. Food. My sister makes a great side dish of mashed turnips and carrots. Yum! In addition, we had turkey, ham, 50 other side dishes, and a billion different pies. LOL! As usual, my brother and sister invited their friends so we were a full house. Very nice.

In amusing news, I bought those "as seen on tv" bumpits because my hair, she is so very flat. I am now rocking the Amy Winehouse look. LOL! I am totally wearing one for the big company Christmas party. *snicker*

Off to nap before I go out for Black Friday. Bring. It. On.

My tummy still hurts from my Thanksgiving Hurl-a-thon, but otherwise I'm in the pink. This will definitely go in the books as one of my crappier vacations. Also, I was hoping to knock NaNoWriMo out this week since I was off, but instead I have barely been keeping abreast. Oh, well. That's just the way it goes.

JP and I went out last night and this morning and got some good deals. Deciding that I would not let my monetary fears or the lack of 42" flat screen TVs take me, I went ahead and bought a 37" LCD TV. Today, I waltzed into various stores at the leisurely hour of 8 am or so and still got some good stuff: super cheap jeans and sweats at Old Navy, 70% off electric throw rugs at Kohl's, and wonder of wonders, a 22" LCD monitor at Target (I figured those would have been snapped up fast since the price was ridiculously low). So, with all my purchases plus a few more online ones, my Christmas shopping will be 90% done (with the exception of a couple of gift cards and various little things I will make for co-workers and whatnot).

So, yeah. Spending money. Cool.

Now, I am going to bust out my new electric throw and watch Pride & Prejudice. Again. Because there is nothing like cup of soup, Sprite, and Elizabeth and Darcy to take the blues out of being sick.

Night, all.
